Homestead Farms

HOMESTEAD FARMS

'Egg Whites' is part of Homestead Farms- a registered Egg grading Station specializing in Free Run Eggs. The Farmers Market booth is run by the White Girls, grandchildren of Tom & Margaret Flack and daughters of Pat Flack-White owners of Homestead Farm.

Homestead Farms started selling eggs at Stouffville Farmers' Market, Square One Farmers' Market and Snelgrove Market and more recently the White girls had a booth at Cowboy Farms just north of Bradford.   This will be the 3rd year we will be a vendor at East Gwillimbury Farmers' Market

We expanded our products to include Chicken, Sausages, Peameal Bacon & Cheese. We take special orders for premium products. We offer these products year round at the farm.

Niemi Farm

NIEMI FAMILY FARMS

Meet Marjo Niemi, a driving force behind our market. Marjo was our 2010 co-manager of the market and our 2011 manager! In fact, you’ve probably seen her in The Era Banner…Marjo was featured in the June 7, 2011 edition. Originally from Finland, Marjo grew up on a farm and always dreamed of having her own farm. In fact, along with her parents and 13 siblings, Marjo learned all about farming and tending to animals at a young age.

In 1988, Marjo and her husband Peter moved to Canada – she worked in a local nursery to learn about gardening in the Canadian climate. In 2004, the family purchased a 25-acre property and house on Herald Road in Sharon. At the Niemi Family Farm, she farms organice vegetables, fruit trees, perennials, and annuals with the help of her 10 children. Yes, you read that right…10!

Marjo IS the farmers’ market in East Gwillimbury. Her energy and beautiful smile are contagious. Come and visit Marjo…in addition to the farm produce, Marjo also gets up early and bakes some treats to bring to the market.

Stop in. Marjo will brighten your day. Guaranteed.
